Chizu's obituary
Chizu "Chic" Yoshino, 90, of Lakewood, CO, left us, surrounded by her family on April 28, 2023 from natural causes.
Chizu was born December 25, 1932 in La Junta, CO to her parents Jukichi and Sute Okugawa. She grew up in La Junta, CO and graduated from La Junta High School 1950. After graduating she left La Junta and attended Junior College in Denver, CO and graduated with an Administrative Studies degree. While in Denver, Chizu met and married Hikaru Yoshino and started their family. A few years later, Chizu started working again to help support their family. She worked a few years at the local McDonalds, and then was able to find employment with the National Park Service as an executive administrative assistant. She retired in 1994 where she spent the years taking care of her children and her grandchildren. She lived for her children and grandchildren and it was devastating for her and Hikaru to lose their daughter, Keiko Jordan in 1996. Her life’s goal was to raise her family so they could have a better life. Chizu was a dedicated loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be forever missed.
Chizu is predeceased by her parents, Jukichi and Sute, brother Jimmy, sisters Mary and Amy, husband Hikaru, and her daughter Keiko. She is survived by her sister Kim, daughter DeLynne, son Scott, her daughter-in-law Brenda and son-in-laws, Steve and Doug. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jessica, Jaclynne, and Pierce, and her great grandchildren, Arya, Max, Paxton, and Kennedy. Services will be held at 11:00 am on June 23rd at Fairmont Cemetery, 430 S Quebec St, Denver, CO 80247. The service is closed to only her extended family and close friends.
