Kind, loving, sweet, smart, and inspiring are many words that come to mind when remembering Chizu. She has always been a part of my life and is the one of the sweetest and most gentle souls I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. Chizu has been such a gift to our family and I will never forget her thoughtful gestures. I will always remember this amazing woman and am so happy that she was able to hold and meet my baby girl. Chizu’s life is one to be celebrated. I love and miss her deeply.
We were sad to learn that Chizu is no longer with us. She was one of the first ones we met when we moved to Denver in 1980 and she helped us a lot as we transitioned to a new city and, of course, her Broncos. When our youngest daughter Caryn was born here Chizu was always there for her and in October got to see and hold Elle (Caryn’s daughter) which was a treat for all of us. We will miss our sushi outings and conversations about people and the Park Service. After we retired, we met with Chizu often for breakfast and eventually changed to trying sushi places instead. We shared pictures and updates on our families. She was like a member of our family. We will miss her warm smile and her love of family and friends. Chizu was a very special lady.
