I am so very sorry. Ms. Chhiv was a special person. I was so sad to learn about her passing. I met her at Bassett and she was always so nice to me. I am a substitute teacher and it was always a good day when I worked with her. Not only did she work well with the students, she was always incredibly friendly. She was such a bright spot of my day any time I saw her. She was wise and gave such good advice. She was also so generous and would offer to make myself and my mom some of her homemade dishes. I also know she was very talented and skilled especially with her jewelry making. She is greatly missed. Sending thoughts, courage, and peace to her family.

Chhiv has been an incredible blessing in my life from the first day we met at Bassett. ...From her greeting me every morning in the lunch area with her happy smile and positivity to brighten my day...To her caring and loving spirit bringing me her delicious soups and pasta meals for me at lunch...And to her creativity designing all these beautiful earrings and bracelets for each of the holidays. As I continue to wear her jewelry it will remind me of the loving memories and happy times together that I will truly miss. I do know I now have an awesome angel watching over me! To her family I send my love and condolences during this difficult time. Will keep you all in my prayers🙏 💕

Ms. Chivv, I will miss you! I can’t believe we were just talking in my classroom before winter break. You said, “See you next year!” You were working on my bracelet 🥹. You measured my wrist and said to me, “You will love your bracelet when you see it.” I will miss your energy and your positive attitude. Fly high Ms. Chivv! 🥹😢🤍🕊️

It’s hard to find the words for how saddened we learned of Ms. Chhiv’s passing. I am honored to have known Ms. Chhiv two years ago at Bassett Street Elementary School.
Last school year {2023-2024}, we were both assigned to the same classroom as Teacher Assistants. From that very moment we created a Sisterhood bond. Every time she would called me …(“MY SISTER!”). I will never forget the laughs and fun we shared together and they were some of the most enjoyable moments at work.
Ms. Chhiv’s kindness, humor, and friendship will ALWAYS live in my heart. Her memories will NEVER be forgotten. She will be truly missed and will ALWAYS be remembered. 💐💐💐💐

I first met Chhiv two years ago at Bassett Street Elementary School. At the time, I was brand new to teaching, and she was assigned to my class as my teacher’s assistant. From the very beginning, her dedication and work ethic stood out. While we had our moments of disagreement, our bond grew stronger over time, and she became not just a colleague but a dear friend.
As a new teacher, I was incredibly fortunate to have her by my side. Chhiv’s experience and support helped me grow into the educator I am today. Her attention to detail, cleanliness, and organizational skills brought structure and order to our classroom, for which I will always be grateful.
One of the things I will miss most about Chhiv is her cooking. She loved to cook, and she would often bring me delicious home-cooked meals. I used to tell her all the time that she should open a restaurant or sell food on the side because her cooking was just that good. Her meals were more than just food; they were an extension of her kindness and generosity. She even went out of her way to make food for my mom, who has a very strict diet due to her medical issues. Chhiv took the time to prepare meals that my mom could enjoy, always making sure they tasted great. My mom and I will both miss her dearly.
Adjusting to life in the classroom without her will be incredibly difficult. Her sudden passing has left a void that will be deeply felt by me and, most importantly, by the students who loved and appreciated her so much.
Chhiv’s kindness, dedication, and friendship will never be forgotten. She made a lasting impact on our school community and in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be greatly missed.
