Chester's obituary

Chester Williams was born February 23, 1935, and made his transition November 10, 2020. His parents Eugene and Oneal Williams, and brother Rudolph from Madison Arkansas, preceded his passing. The Williams family had moved to Toledo, Ohio when Chester was very young.
In his adolescence he attended Libbey High School and was on the basketball team.
As a young man Chester was a hard worker. His employment included General Mills, Toledo Scales, and Grace Cafeteria.

In 1961 He married Peggy Wright Mosley, and became the Dad of Laura and Deborah Mosley. After one year of marriage Chester was convinced by his new wife to move to California. Two years later, they welcomed their youngest daughter Tanya Williams in 1964.

In 1971 Chester and Peggy purchased their first home in Compton CA. There the family resided for 23 years. Being known as the party house because of the large den/family room, many great gatherings and memorable historical activities took place there.

Chester was employed at Ingersoll Rand Transportation in Vernon CA., for (32) thirty two years, from which he retired in 1996. He and Peggy enjoyed retirement in Lancaster CA until they relocated to Stockton CA.

The Williams household was always full of family travels and gatherings. One of Chester's favorite pastimes was taking his family camping. The campers grew to mobile homes and many trips were made that included family, and friends sharing in the camping experience all other USA.

Chester was a faithful member of Progressive Community Church in Stockton, CA. He was also a member of Lodge 102 of Prince Hall Masons, Compton, CA

Chester's uplifting and positive nature was always met with a warm "Hey" and genuine smile that was contagious and heartfelt. He was a father figure to more than his 3 daughters, but also many of their friends, family members, and extended family members. A true staple within the Wright Family, being the one Uncle to his many nieces and nephews, whom could count on him for advice or just a listening hear with confirmations of "I heard that".
Prior to his health challenge, Chester visited the gym and enjoyed neighborhood walks regularly. On the weekends he could be found rooting for his favorite teams, The Raiders, Lakers, watching baseball and occasionally golf.

Chester leaves behind his devoted wife of 59 years, Peggy, His 3 daughters Laura, Deborah and Tanya, Grandchildren: Ryshaun, Felix Samuel, Jamiya, and Quinton. 8 Great Grandchildren: Jhayla, Amiya, Bruhklyn, Jaxson, Kai, Deveraux, Maddox, and Sunny Love. A host of Nieces, Nephews, Sister in Laws, Cousins, Extended family members and friends for life.

In loving memory of a life so beautifully lived and a heart so deeply loved, we want to thank all for the outpouring of loving support we have received from everyone.

With absolute gratitude,
The Family of Chester Williams
