Cheryl's obituary
We regretfully announce the passing of Cheryl Lynne Suarez of Big Pine Key, FL and most recently of, Tamarac, FL on September 27, 2023. Cheryl was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully.
Our mother, Cheryl, or as many knew her as, Dusty, was one of the sweetest women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her as the mother hen of the family. Cheryl, born March 30, 1945 in Richmond, Virginia, grew up in a Military family who served at many levels and in the Philippines, Korea, Japan, South Vietnam, and Panama. She graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1971 with a degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, she went on to pursue a 40 year long, fulfilling career through the Monroe County School District. Her love for children was endless.
Soon after relocating to Key West, in 1971, she met her husband Gilbert and together they went on to have 3 children and built a beautiful life in the Florida Keys. Cheryl was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.
Cheryl was predeceased by her father and mother, Maj. Brooks D Anderson and Violet Risley Anderson. Cheryl is survived by her husband Gilbert Suarez of Tamarac, FL. Son, Gilbert Suarez II (Carli Suarez) of Coral Springs, FL, Daughters, Amanda Suarez Rodriguez (Edmund Griffiths III) of Key West, FL, Vanessa Suarez (Christopher Bevins) of Tamarac, FL, Lisa Suarez (Rodney Richbourg) of Big Pine Key, FL, and Laura Suarez Smith of Bay City, TX. Grandchildren, Ryan Gannon, Harlie Lavergne, Diego Rodriguez, Dominick Rodriguez, Callie Griffiths, Sadie Suarez, Mason Suarez, Nico Griffiths, Christopher Pennington, and Violet Pennington.
