Cheryl “Cheri” Marie Johnson, 69, quietly passed away the afternoon of April 8th, 2023 in her home of Stilwell, Kansas surrounded by her family. She was born August 20, 1953 in Watertown, South Dakota, the daughter to John and Renelda DeVille.

Cheri made her way to Kansas City, where she met and married Bruce Johnson. They made their home in Stilwell, Kansas where both of their children were raised. Cheri was known for her kindness, infectious laughter, and unique ability to make everyone she met feel loved and special. Those who knew her would have a hard time naming someone who had a greater love for life. Cheri’s happy place was sitting on the patio, listening to her favorite songs, surrounded by her family and friends.

Cheri is survived by her husband Bruce Johnson; her two children Alex and Madison Johnson; daughter-in-law Taylor Johnson; brothers Todd and Dennis DeVille and a loving extended family including nieces and nephews who loved her deeply.

She is preceded in death by her mother Renelda DeVille, her father John DeVille, her sister Patricia DeVille, her brother Robert DeVille, and nephew Scott DeVille.

A Visitation will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, April 13th and a Funeral at 10:30 am Friday, April 14th at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church at 14251 Nall Avenue, Leawood, Kansas. A Burial service will be held at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, 9501 159th St, Overland Park, KS 66221, immediately following the funeral services. A luncheon will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church following the Burial service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the ALS Association Mid-America Chapter.
