Cheryl embodied what a life of servant leadership should look like. She was loved by her colleagues, both American and Indian, admired for her wisdom and expertise, and she lived life with love and generosity towards friend and stranger alike. Because of her work, lives have been saved, livelihoods have been expanded, and our country and world have been made stronger. Mission India was her last professional home and all of us at Mission India who served with her, mourn our loss and I know that she is missed every minute of every day. May her memory be a blessing and her service an example. God rest her soul. Eric Garcetti, Ambassador, 2023-25

To the Hodge-Snead family you are in my thoughts and prayers. Receiving this news is so shocking. I met Cheryl in early 2022 when she came to the USAID India Mission. As we became colleagues and friends, I appreciated her thought process. She gave the best advice. Cheryl you will be greatly missed. I wish you a smooth transition.
To both families, I send you my deepest condolences.
