Cheryl's obituary

**Full Obituary for Cheryl A. Forbess**

**May 19, 1949 – July 25, 2025**

*"You’ll miss me when I’m gone… and here we are."*

Cheryl A. Forbess decided she was done with the summer reruns and took her final bow on July 25, 2025, at exactly 1:33 PM—right in the middle of *General Hospital*.  She always said Friday cliffhangers were a scam but here we are.

Born May 19, 1949, in Decatur, Illinois, to Zane and Bernadine Bond, Cheryl was the second of four children: Andrea, Cheryl, Mike, and Chuck. She graduated from Eisenhower High School, which was about the last time anyone successfully told her what to do.

Cheryl married Emmett “Danny” Webb and together they had three children:

* Jason C. Webb

* Danny R. Webb, and

* Wendy J. Webb

In 1981, the family relocated to Enid, Oklahoma. Here she began work at Gold Spot Dairy. She thrn began at Bass hospital where Cheryl began her legendary career at Bass as a dishwasher. Nine years later, she’d clawed her way up to lead dietician, proving once again that nobody could outwork, outcook, or out-stubborn her.

It was there that she met her soul sister, her best friend, Jackie Cappelli.  These two women were legendary for their laughter, support, and trust in each other. They continued that sisterhood until Jackie's passing in 1993. We can only imagine the times they are having now that they are reunited!

She married Calvin Forbess in 1983 and together they raised her three kids—and later welcomed the youngest additions to the family, Tessa and Vanessa McFarland, into their chaotic, loving home. Cheryl’s door was always open, her pot of coffee never empty, and her opinions never sugar-coated.

The family returned to Decatur in 1989, where she worked for ADM overseeing their test kitchen. Among her proudest (and most hilarious) moments was the day she gave a tour to Mikhail Gorbachev. Instead of corporate pleasantries, she grilled him about *that thing on his head* and then launched into a monologue about her kids. Priorities.

Back in Enid by 1993, Cheryl; rebranded  herself as the “Parts Princess” at Northcutt Chevrolet. Her presence in the showroom (often trailing a grandbaby identifying Chevys like flashcards) cemented her status as the patron saint of family car obsessions.

She officially divorced in 2004—somewhat amicably and with her signature sass. The marriage may have ended, but the friendship (and jokes) lasted. She moved to Oklahoma City in 2007, worked at Comprisk Management and AARP, and finally told the “rat race” to kiss it in 2017. She happily retired to spend time with her beloved dog Scarlett and enjoy the peace she so deeply earned.

In 2018, Brian Forbess moved in as her roommate, friend, and later—husband. They got hitched in June 2024, proving it’s never too late to find your person (even if he’s been in the next room the whole time).

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, both of her ex-husbands (who, we assume, finally got tired of being wrong), her best friend, Jackie Cappelli,  her beloved sister Andrea Kaularich, and several of the friends, family members, and pets that made up the puzzle of her heart.

She is survived by a sprawling, loud, fiercely devoted family who will miss her every single day:

Her husband Brian Forbess of the home

Her children Danny his wife Toni of Enid Ok.

Wendy Webb Of Oklahoma City;

Grandchildren: Taylor Ivy-Webb (Enid), Kailee (Webb) Blom (TX), Christopher Webb (Stillwater OK), Dani Rae Webb (Enid OK), Kynzi Webb (Enid OK), Cadyn Webb (OKC), Raya Winter (Moore), Jeremiah, Neveah, Avionna, Truelynn, and Avionna Webb.

She will be treasured in the memories of countless nieces, nephews, godchildren, neighborhood kids, and honorary family members—anyone who was lucky enough to feel the warmth of her love (or the sharpness of her sarcasm).

Cheryl was never the mushy type. She loved from the side-eye, cared through action, and gave hugs (or smacks) that knocked the wind out of you. She had a heart big enough to hold broken people, lost children, stray animals, and everybody else who thought they didn’t belong.

She could cuss you out and cook you dinner in the same breath—and you’d thank her for both. Her stubbornness was legendary, her loyalty unmatched, her humor razor sharp, and her love absolutely unforgettable.

She was, in the words of everyone who knew her: *A handful.*

But oh Lord, what a beautiful handful she was.
