Cheryl's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Cheryl Dillon, born on January 19, 1959, who departed this life on August 20, 2025. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Cheryl is remembered for her distinctive stubborn independence and the love she held for her family.
Cheryl was predeceased by her mother, Phyllis Grammer, her ex-husband, Walter Dillon, with whom she shared beautiful moments in their marriage from 1976 until 1996, and her sons, Dustin and Walter E. Dillon. Her brother, Micheal Hurley and her father, David Hurley, also preceded her in passing.
She leaves behind an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her surviving family members: her daughters, Chandilee Dillon and Danielle Dorr; her son, Thomas Dillon; her grandson, William Sugg, who she deeply cared about and considered a cause close to her heart. She is also survived by her siblings, Byron Hurley (Darla), Joel Hurley(Tobbie), and Anita Meza(Fernando).
In Cheryl's personal life, her tastes were simple and genuine. She had a particular fondness for the color green, cooking shows, and coffee. The activity she cherished most was reading, often accompanied by her beloved grandson, William. It is these simple joys and her enduring spirit that enriched the lives of those around her.
Cheryl’s life will be celebrated in a service held at 11:00 AM, September 6, 2025, at Clover Dell Park. We invite all who knew and loved her to attend. We will remember her as a loving grandmother, a stubborn yet independent woman who held her ground, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire us all.
While we mourn her loss, we acknowledge the rich and remarkable life Cheryl lived and the countless ways she impacted those around her. Her memory will be etched in our hearts forever.
