Dear Mama,

You got your wings 40 days ago and the moment your soul flew away will forever be engraved in my memory. šŸ•Š

I wanted a different ending … we all wanted a different ending, but the man upstairs wanted you in heaven. And I really can’t blame him.

Anyone who knows you, knows you belong in the most beautiful, magical, loving place there is and unfortunately for me, it’s not Disneyland. šŸ˜‰

Everything about who you are and how you show up is pure love. The amount of love, laughter, and joy you brought into every relationship, situation and room you entered was something special.

I’m not really sad for you because if you couldn’t stay here with us … you were ready for where you are.

But, selfishly I’m sad for me … there’s so much I’m going to miss seeing you do and so many memories I’m going to make that your face won’t be in.

Like seeing the way you’d light up when I shared good news ... the empathy you’d show when I shared challenging news … how you’d hold space for me when life was messy … how you’d bring light and laughter to really heavy situations … and that mischievous ā€œoopsieā€ look when you were about to do something we couldn’t tell dad about. Life with you was just so much more fun and meaningful.

Although I’ll miss seeing you light up at all the future births, graduations, weddings, birthdays, parties and more … I’m still going to bring you along. :)

People might think that’s crazy … but, I really don’t care. You’re officially a part of the ā€œcommittee in my headā€. And I know you’re not judging me because you’re the one who taught me about the committee. 🤪

So, I miss you here on earth with me … I wish you could be here … but I understand that you aren’t and I’m grateful you’re not too far away. I love you forever šŸ’›

At our annual goals setting workshop, my friends Robert, Reuben and Lauren honored Cheri by singing a beautiful song while nearly 200 people held up and waved candles in Cheri's honor.

Cheri was always very supportive of my work and was truly the wind beneath my wings. It was a tremendous blessing to see a large group of some of people positively impact by my business life take take to acknowledge Cheri and her important role in my life and work.

Thanks to everyone who was there!

Cheri was in the first BSF Bible Study I facilitated and it was obvious to me that she should have been leading our group because of her knowledge and love of Jesus and His word and His people. I considered her a good friend from that day forward and often sat in church services at EVC with her. What a fragrance of Christ she left everywhere she went and in every relationship she had. The Lord gave her extra years to love on her family whom she adored. God has received her into His heavenly family and I anticipate enjoying her fellowship even more when I arrive (in God's perfect timing). Blessings to her family-Susann Mackenzie

You are so right Russ. Cheri will never be forgotten. One of her gifts, was the ability to love...and not only to love but feel loved, and validated. Cheri and I volunteered for many Youth Group Events. In sharing life stories regarding our maturing children, we found comfort many times in saying "THIS TOO SHALL PASS!". We lost contact for awhile and then I contacted her after finding out about her cancer diagnosis. I had my own cancer journey and we were able to share as sisters in Jesus, and as fighters. She had text me in November and asked for prayer as she needed a miracle because her legs were no longer able to hold her up. As a nurse and having worked in Oncology, I knew the ultimate healing she had talked and prayed for, was soon to come. At one time, I also was blessed to perform an ultrasound that revealed she was going to become a grandmother again! That day my heart was so full of joy because i knew what kind of love this baby was going to be born into. Our hearts are truly fuller because of who Cheri was, and continues to be. What a wonderful legacy of love that you all get to carry on. Sending hugs to each one of you. Kari
I am so sorry to hear about Cheri’s passing. I have been thinking about her every day since my mom told me. I remember our pizza/choir performance get togethers and making apple cider at Al’s ranch with such fond memories. When I think of Cheri I remember her as always having a smile on her face and love in her eyes when she was around her family. She will be missed.
Russ, Stephanie, Staci, Ryan, Kristina, Sean, and families: I was so saddened to hear the news of your loss, and that Cheri had been sick. I am so sorry we had not been in touch in recent years, as I have actually thought of your dear family often over the years. I have such fond memories of Cheri from our years of homeschool co-op, PFA, and numerous sleepovers, family get togethers, and co-op trips. She was so kind, always seemed ready to handle anything, and I will always remember her infectious laugh! What a precious soul. I am so sorry for your loss, but please know you will be in my prayers in the coming days and weeks. Lots of love to your family ā™„ļø -Katie (DeHart) Elliott

I loved her warm, caring and calm personality.

She made a positive impact on so many of us!
My heart is grieved and words cannot express your tremendous loss.
Cheri will be severely missed. I can’t wait to see her again. And when we do she will twirl each of us around giving God Thanks and PRAISE that we are together with Abba.
This is the music I played at Cheri's birthday party some time ago.

I don't know how else to express my condolences, feelings for Cheri and her family. I just know that I found it helpful to listen to when I heard about this.

Hopefully this brings a smile…

Hopefully this brings a smile. Steph & Staci Gray with Dani Soto back in the day
Dear Gray family, I will never forget the day we received the call from Staci that the family wanted us to send a video desiring us to uplift Cheri this past Thanksgiving. Cheri was fighting the disease and sadly we had no idea. The last we heard she had won. But life happens and the years dissolved into social media likes, thumbs up and over the years loving social contact became this type of interaction in this weird distant way.

You know, sadly it never crossed our mind that we were no longer receiving social media interaction from Cheri until we got the call from Staci. Please forgive us Gray family!

Please know that our family aches for you and over the holidays we grieved. To us, Cheri and the Gray family as a whole were our saviors. Like Russ and Cheri my wife and I met young, We met soon after they did and got married in our teens. Growing up with kids and in our twenties hit us hard, I was immature and while trying to figure out my way, Cheri and Russ made room for my wife and kids while I tried to figure things out.

Here they had a full house of kids, everyone was running all over each other, money was tight, but they took in my family, never judged me and prayed. I am happy to say that over the years I matured and came back to Jesus and my family. But there is no doubt in my mind that if it were not for Cheri, her prayers, her unselfish demeanor and her deep love for marriage and family this wouldn't have been the case.

Cheri was unjudging, unselfish and treated my family like her own. The woman was simply special and I can only imagine how she was with her daughters, sons and grandbabies. it had to be powerful!

Cheri, Russ and family we will always hold the Gray family close to our hearts forever. You guys are the true meaning of family and please know that we are lifting you guys up through this difficult time. We know that Cheri dances with the angels now with her new body, loved ones and family. What a glorious day it will be when we all join her in eternity forever.

We love you guys and look forward to seeing you on the 15th. Always, Mark, Teresa, Dani, Josh & Ben Soto

We first met Cheri on a Real Estate Guys event. She was so engaging and we felt a connection right away. Years later, she shared her story of her great fight against cancer and what she was doing to overcome it. She was so strong and influenced us on our own journey against cancer. She was always available for us to talk or ask questions. She is the reason we know what we do, the beginning of the journey was because of her and what she shared! She will always be in our hearts and never forgotten! Thank you Cheri for your love and guidance! We love you! Amy and Nick Furchner
