Cheri was my friend, and over time she was also a mentor to me and she helped me become a better teacher. We met through a teachers chat room, and ended up meeting in person several times at different gatherings. I always enjoyed her company. We would talk about books, our students, and so many other things

. I attended her wedding in Tennessee and the last time I saw her was right in my home state of Michigan when she visited the Mackinac area with a group of our friends from the teacher’s chat group.

  I will miss her. Sending my love and hugs to her family. She always expressed her love for all of you.
