Charlton's obituary

Charlton Clint Woolard, 67 years old, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, passed away suddenly on February 6, 2024.

Charlton was born on November 28, 1956 to Julia Etta Bufford and Charles Elbert Woolard in Gary, Indiana. After Charlton graduated from Roosevelt High School in Gary in 1975, he went on to attend Purdue University. At Purdue Charlton pledged Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

After graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering, he started his first job at General Electric in their Engineering College Graduate Training Program. After working at General Electric for a number of years, Charlton decided to further his education. He received the highly selective Johnson and Johnson Graduate Scholarship and went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania where he received dual degrees: a Masters in Business Administration from The University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business and a Masters in Computer Science. His subsequent career in the technology sector spanned 40 years, primarily focused in the automotive industry.

Charlton truly had an entrepreneurial spirit leading to the successful development of a stock market management software, Smart Broker Pro, and the writing of his career autobiography, Charlton Woolard: A Career Autobiography.

In retirement, Charlton continued his love for technology perfecting Smart Broker Pro and staying up to date on all the latest technology. Charlton also was an avid television watcher and you could always count him to have seen the latest movies.

Charlton was a loving son, brother, father, fraternity brother and friend. He always was more than generous with his time and resources. He is survived by his daughter, Sherese Woolard, his sisters Tanya (Andre) Heard and Sharlyne Buchanan, and a host of nephews and nieces. Charlton was predeceased in death by his mother Julia Etta (Bufford) Woolard and his father Charles Elbert Woolard.

Charlton was taken from us all too soon and he will be truly missed. We will miss all the advice he offered whether you asked for it or not and his truly unique and genuine perspectives on the world. We love you. Rest In Peace Charlton.
