Charlotte's obituary
Charlotte May Hill passed away peacefully at the healthy age of 97 on March 17th, 2022, in Stanwood, Washington. She was born on June 15th, 1924, in Long Beach, California, to Fenton and Alma Young. She went to Lincoln High School in Seattle and continued on to graduate in dietary science from the University of Washington. She was very proud that she and her sister were the first women in their family to achieve college degrees.
She met her husband, Robert Hill, in high school, and during the war, she did an internship at a hospital in Detroit, Michigan, while Robert was serving overseas in the Army. After the war, Robert returned stateside, and they were married on April 25th, 1947. Together they raised their family in the Northgate area of Seattle.
Charlotte lived a life of devotion to God. She worked as a dietician for many years in the local Seattle hospitals. She enjoyed the Seattle Mariners and crossword puzzles and was a great bingo player! Throughout her life, she traveled all over the world; some of her favorite places were Singapore, Portugal, and Hawaii. She collected miniature spoons from all of the places she visited. You would often hear Frank Sinatra playing at her house. Charlotte had enjoyment from life that was never more present than when she was with her family. Some of her favorite moments have been spent on the beach on Camano Island with her family.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents (Fenton and Alma Young), her husband (Robert), and her sister (Margorie). She is survived by her children (Kathleen and Richard), grandchildren (Jena, Allison, Christopher, Charlie, and AnnMarie), and her great-grandchildren (Avaka, Cody, and Zerek.)
Charlotte was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed.
