Background

As many know, my father got sick in January of 2020, when we left the hospital they told us he had roughly 6 months. So here we are on hospice. 6 months later we were still blessed with his presents. A couple months later he was released from the Hospice program. They feel he didn’t need it anymore because he’s had the service for so long. He was doing fine for a while. The last month was very hard for him. With weather getting colder his lungs couldn’t take it anymore. He was always so tired and wore out. Always in bed, could barely eat. On thanksgiving we took him to the hospital and sat there all day. Once they ran some tests and he was back to feeling better we got to go home. Tuesday, November 30th my mom took him back to the hospital, and from there no news was good news. His kidneys were failing. His lungs were too tired to keep him moving. His heart was tired and couldn’t keep his body functioning. We was then being transported to Bronson in Kalamazoo as soon as he was stable enough to be moved. Being so late and him being in such bad condition, family couldn’t be with him over night. Wednesday morning, December 1st, we head straight to Kalamazoo, before we are half way there his doctor calls, we need to get there as soon as possible. As soon as we get to the hospital we’re pulled into a room where we were then told my dad won’t be coming home. I’ll have to leave him there and say my final goodbyes when I lay him to rest. With this all happening so close to the holidays and raising my family, and now planning a funeral, it’s beginning to be a bit stressful. Right now anything will help as to, even though we had time to prepare, we was not yet prepared for this to happen so suddenly. Contribute   Right arrow
