Charles's obituary
Charles is survived by wife of 40 years, Sharon (Wuest) Souders; his son, Chol Souders (Rebecca) and daughter Sharon Souders, as well as his three grandchildren Michael, Chase, and Aubree whom he loved more than anything in the world. Charles is also survived by his loving sister Evelyn (Souders) Vose and many nieces and nephews.
Charles was born on January 29, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pa to Charles R Souders and Evelyn Souders (Gray). He was a little guy with a big heart and some of his fondest memories were of him growing up in Northeast Village with his older brother, George.
Charles would go on to graduate from Abraham Lincoln High School in Northeast Philadelphia and would eventually enlist into the Army and serve during the Vietnam War. In the war, Charles would go on to become a sharpshooter, which was a title that he was extremely proud of.
Charles was a railroad worker and often worked one or two side jobs in order to support his family. His hardworking, never give up mentality was a mindset that he always tried to instill in his children and grandchildren.
He was a self-described “Mr Fix IT” that would rather take the time to solve an issue than ask anybody for help….ever. He had an old-school mentality and followed the laws of the streets. His friends were his family and he would give them the clothes off his back if need be, especially his fellow veterans.
Charles was a longtime baseball coach for Bristol Township National Little League in Croydon, Pa where his main objective was always to help players become better men while teaching them a love for the game.
Visitation is scheduled for 9am-10:00 am on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Sanutti Funeral Home located at 7101 Torresdale Ave Philadelphia, Pa 19135, with his burial scheduled for 11:30 am at Washington Crossing Cemetery in Newtown,Pa.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Charles’ life, unless you are a Clinton. He hated you.
