Chuck's obituary
Charles (Chuck) Edward Singleton, 75, of Orland Park, Illinois, died peacefully at home on March 3, 2026, surrounded by family and supported by the extraordinary staff of Heartland Hospice.
He was born April 29, 1950, in Gary, Indiana to Donald and Helen (Rudolph) Singleton. He was a 1969 graduate of Carl Sandburg High School where he was a member of the varsity football team, remembered for their undefeated four-year high school record.
Chuck married Elizabeth (Goldinger) Singleton on June 11, 1972, in Tinley Park, Illinois. He was the longtime owner of CMC Construction, where he was the general contractor specializing in custom home construction, before going on permanent disability in 1988. Chuck deeply loved his wife, Elizabeth (Peg), rarely wanting her far from his side. He was known for his charismatic personality, deep devotion to his family, and political banter.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Michael Dennis Singleton; and his cherished son, Carl Singleton. He is survived by his beloved wife, Peg; a daughter, Kate (Ryan) Fetters, grandsons, Zakk Leonhardt, Michael Charles Singleton, Matthew Fetters, and Charley David Singleton; and his granddaughter, Sarah Fetters; sister Karla (Mike) Kupres; and many dear nieces and nephews.
Chuck was a medical marvel, always defying the norms. He made the decision to donate his body to science, hoping future neurologists and neurosurgeons will benefit from studying his spine.
