We met in New England (1965), at a rooming house in Southwick, Connecticut where half a dozen or so sailors stayed. Charlie bought a little blue Triumph and gave me a lift to "work".  The heater didn't but we drove to New Jersey in it anyway.

We met up again in Pascagoula, Mississippi when I was assigned to the USS Haddock. He was on the Tautog being built alongside. He bought a dingy sailboat, and we had quite a day learning to sail.  That was in 1967.

In 1970, I believe, he looked me up again when I returned from Westpac cruise to Hawaii. Both "boats" were home-ported there at the time. He brought Lilly, his new bride over and they had a little house on the other side of the island from Pearl Harbor.

I've often thought about them, so it was good to get caught up and happy to know that they enjoyed 54 years together. God bless his family.

My sincerest sympathy Lilly. You have so many cherished memories and adventures. Don’t forget to share them with all of your niece’s and nephew’s. May this give you peace.
Love, peace and light to you and your family.

Lil you are in my thoughts and prays. I love you and Mike. You were like my family too. I will never forget me and Sue feeding the rabbits when you two were traveling. I have many good memories of you both.
