Charles's obituary
Chuck, as he was known, was the father of five children, grandfather of seven grandchildren, and great-grandfather of seven great-grandchildren. Chuck was the oldest son of Charles Francis Schadler and Mary Elizabeth Bernklau, born on April 16, 1943. He served in the Navy and completed two tours in the Vietnam War from 1961 until 1967. He worked as a truck driver for Salt Creek Freightways for 20 years. He then worked as a Sherriff for the Adams County Sheriff’s Department for more than 20 years and retired at age 65. Chuck and Juanita met on a blind date and married two months later on December 19, 1969. Chuck and Juanita raised a beautiful family in Northglenn, Colorado. He loved spending time with his family and loved to go fishing.
Chuck had a wonderful sense of humor and told endless jokes. He truly had the gift of laughter and had a way of making people chuckle. That is why he was AKA as Chuckles, Chuckie Monkey, Uncle Turkey, and Mr. Tickler. He cherished his time with kids, whether they were family or not. Chuck and Juanita visited their favorite place, Puerto Vallarta, every year since 1994 and traveled extensively throughout the years. He touched many lives and was deeply loved by neighbors, friends, and family.
To cherish his memory, Chuck is survived by his adored wife Juanita, three devoted children and their loved ones: Annie, Zelda (Brad Martens), and Richard (Traci Friend); seven beloved grandchildren: Ryan, Jason, Bailey, Rachel, Jacob, Nicholas, and Andrew; seven darling great-grandchildren: Abram, Gavin, Alexis, Olivia, Scarlett, Kellan and Reilly; as well as his treasured sister Carol and brother-in-law Ken.
In Chuck’s honor, a rosary will be held on Monday, January 29 at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Parish, 11385 Grant Dr, Northglenn, CO 80233. The following day a memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Parish, 11385 Grant Dr, Northglenn, CO 80233. The family will begin receiving guests at 10:00 a.m. A private interment of his ashes will occur on Saturday, February 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery in Thornton, CO, where Chuck will be laid to rest.
Special thanks to the ICU staff at Rose Hospital for their relentless hard work. Chuck, we will always carry your memory in our hearts. You are home now with our Lord Jesus, and we will be reunited again in heaven one day.
