Juanita, I am so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful man Chuck was; it was a privilege to call him my friend. My prayers are with you & your family during this difficult time. When someone becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. Donna (Vigil) Van Velzer
I am so sorry Juanita, I will always remember my friend. He always supported and was there for me, when we worked together. I still remember the day we went to Blackhawk at 8:00 in the morning and didn't leave until 2:00 in the morning. We had a such a good time
I met Chuck when I first started with the Adams County Sheriff's Office in 1996, when he was in Transport. I later got to work with him at the Courts in 2007. Chuck always made me laugh, and made it fun to come to work, because I knew I would at some point in the day, laugh. I will miss your humor Chuck. May you Rest in Peace.
I was getting close to graduating Police Academy and was becoming frustrated on where to apply for a job. My father suggested I consider working at the Adams County Sheriff's Office because we had a relative named Chuck working there. I remember my father driving me to Chuck and Juanita's house and speaking with Chuck about what it was like to be a Deputy Sheriff. I remember seeing a large collection of porcelain dolls that Juanita had. The rest is history and I have been at the Sheriff's Office for almost 17 years now along with my brother who followed me there. Chuck was always proud to see me at work and always addressed me as "cousin". He will be missed.
Chuck my old buddy, I am so sorry to hear of your passing.
