Bud's obituary
Bud was one of five children born to Charles and Iris Riley. From a young age he loved to hunt and spend time alone in the woods. He graduated from Bendle High School in 1964 and later went on to graduate with high honors from the University of Michigan, Flint in 1992. He was an avid outdoorsman, gardener, woodworker, builder, writer and painter. His children and grandchildren will remember him for his vivid storytelling, hiking in the woods and constructing homemade bows and arrows. In 2013, while living in Nogales, AZ he achieved his life-long dream of designing, building and flying his own ultralight aircraft.
Bud leaves behind a loving girlfriend, M. Zoe Starkweather of Flint, MI; three daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle (and Scott) Wright of Audubon, PA, Melinda (and Gary) Gomer of Grand Haven, MI and Heather (and Mark) Snoeberger of Whittaker, MI; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Riley and a brother, Howard Riley and two nieces.
