Charles Arthur Ray to all known as Baldy, was born on August 1, 1954 to the late Miss Hattie Potts, Of Rockingham County. Charles was preceded in death by his mother Miss Hattie Potts.
Charles attended Walter Hines Page High School in Greensboro NC where he graduated.
Charles began his career at Gilbarco, where he worked 22 years before he retired.
In the summer of 1997, Charles met the love of his life Susan Stewart they were married for 23 years until the Lord called him home.

Baldy was a die hard Cowboys and Duke fan. He dearly enjoyed going to the beach spending time with his children, family and friends. What brought him joy in his life was his eight children, sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He often laughed about having his own personal football team.
Baldy also shared a love for animals, his two doggie children were Reebe and Shadow, who you would find often snuggled up on his feet or following him around the house.

He leaves behind his wife Susan Ray and a life long friend much like a Brother Lonnie Cole Sr.
A host of nieces, nephews and extended children, including a special nephew, Chris Foust.
He had three special friends whom he spent a lot of time with in his lifetime, Charles Councilman (Mark).
Billy Dixon and Larry Harrison.
