Charles Willis Pringle Sr was born January 11, 1931 weighing in at 1 pound and 3 ounces to Charles Ambrose Pringle and Elizabeth Frances (Dowling ) Pringle in Providence, RI. He was not expected to survive. His mother never gave up on him. He slept in a dresser drawer most of his infancy. He, as tiny as he was, proved them all wrong. He began his fight for life then and never gave up. He was a fighter and would be one for his entire life. His brother, Willis Dever Pringle was born in 1934. A younger brother to love, but to tease and scare to no end. In a good way of course. Charlie attended and graduated from East Providence High School. Yes, he was a Townie! He had two career paths to choose from. Be a professional pitcher for the Cleveland Indians or serve his country and join the navy. He decided to join the navy, but unfortunately did not weigh enough! He was told to go

home, gain a few pounds and return. He finally weighed the correct weight and was assigned to the destroyer USS Rupertis in 1951. He served during the Korean conflict. He was a deck hand. He was transferred to the USS Watts where he served his remaining time. He was honorably discharged in 1955. When he returned to Riverside, RI, his hometown, he met Josephine Ann Iervolino. He worked for a few years along side his father at the Harris Printing Company in Providence Ri. He worked as a laborer for most of his career at various companies. They dated and were married in 1957. They had three children, Charles W. Pringle,Jr., Karen Elizabeth Pringle and Patricia Ann Pringle. Josephine and Charles celebrated 63 wonderful, caring years of true love together. Enjoying five grandchildren, Peter R Celani and Kellie A Celani, Jaclyn R Pringle, twins, Brandon A and Lauren C Pringle and a wonderful great grand daughter, Anna Rose Celani. Charlie fought tenaciously cancers, heart problems, surgeries through his whole life but all the while keeping his good natured demeanor and humor. Always fought the battles. Tired of fighting, hospitals, tests, etc. he went to Rest In Peace on July 7 2020. No more pain or suffering. He fought the big fight and won. He is now with the Holy family and those that passed before him. We should know, that he is not gone, he walks beside us as our angel. God bless you Husband, Dad and Grandpa and Great-Grandpa
