Charles's obituary
Beloved husband of Cheryl Marvelli.
Loving father of Kimberly (O'Neal) & George Papageorge, Timothy O'Neal, and Tiffany (O'Neal) & Christian Carvacho. Cherished Grandfather to Olivia, Parker, Mason, Petros, Karston, and Rian. Survived by his brother, Paul O'Neal, nephew Brandon, nieces Brandi and Isabella.
Chuck was born on January 24, 1942, to Leland and Rebecca Montoya O'Neal in Los Angeles.
He grew up as a young man in Chico, California where he attended Chico Junior High, Chico High, and Chico State University. Graduating with a psychology degree, he would go onto pursue a law degree at McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, while starting a family. He went on to work for CNA Insurance and distinguished law firms in the Sacramento area which led him to establishing his own private investigation firm, Investigation Associates. These roads would carve the path to what would become his lifetime career, one that he could never really retire from, since his expertise became invaluable in the legal field. He got involved in local politics, where he would run for election and serve on the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District Board for a number of years .
He lived a life committed to Christ, inspiring those around him with his dedication to family, friends, the church, and his community. He raised his young family in Carmichael, Ca, and it would be through his involvement and dedication as a Young Life leader that would be his greatest joy. Ministering to thousands of high school students in the Sacramento area and beyond, his ministry left a valuable and lasting impression to those who were apart of his Young Life clubs.
In recent years, his love for traveling the world, timeless explorations to the Sierra backcountry, and many photography adventures would become his hearts desire. This also would include enjoying the sidelines of any of his grandkids plentiful sporting events and cheering them on.
His sense of humor and funny jokes will always be a smiling characteristic and lasting impression cherished by many of his friends and family. His love for the Lord, from whom he drew his constant strength, both physically and spiritually, was and always will be, an inspiration. Through his passion and incredible talent of photography, he leaves us a beautiful legacy on his perspective of God's creation through color and light on the natural beauty of serene waters, amazing sunsets and illuminating landscapes that surround us all.
May his memory be eternal.
