Charles Edward North III, known as “Chuck,” passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, at the age of 77. Born April 21, 1947, in Glen Ridge, NJ, Chuck grew up in Essex Fells, NJ, where he was lovingly raised by his devoted parents, Charlie and Helen.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Anne; his sons, Charlie, Christopher, and Blake; his daughter, Jaimie; his stepsons, Jeremy and Seth; and his brother, Russell and his family. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, who brought him boundless joy and pride.

Chuck found joy in the great outdoors, spending countless hours surrounded by nature, a passion he shared with family and friends. Whether sailing, birding, fishing or simply enjoying the crackling of a campfire surrounded by the beauty of the world around him, Chuck embraced the simplicity and wonder of life.

Chuck will be deeply missed by his surviving family and friends, who will surely remember his warmth, compassion, kindness, and unwavering love. His memory will continue to live on through the stories, traditions, and values he passed down to those fortunate to know him.

A celebration of Chuck's life will be held privately by his family and closest friends at an appropriate time and place. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you always keep Chuck in your heart and honor his memory.
