Heidi, Craig and family, and Matt -

Our hearts were so very saddened to hear about Chuck's passing. You all are in our prayers and thoughts. Much love,  Marci, Kimmberly, Zander, and Zeke

Chuck was one if the most honorable men I have ever known. He always seemed to do the right thing no matter what and offered help or assistance if it was needed.
This incident happened shortly after I started working at the Crime Lab. Chuck took me aside and told me that when he distributed the pay checks, he had to look at the name on the check to see in which mailbox to put the check. He said he never looked at the amount of the check or any of the other information. However when he was putting my check into my mailbox, the amount caught his eye and he concerned for me. I explained that I was financially ok. That when I started working for the District Attorney's Office 3 years prior, I had signed up for automatic deposit. When I transferred to the Sheriff's Office, their Payroll Department stated that they did things differently and that I could no longer have 100% of my pay automatically deposited, that I had to have some amount issued on my paycheck. So I changed my deposit amount to where every pay day my check was only for the amount of a book of stamps. Even though he hadn't known me for very long Chuck to offer to help me out financially if I needed it. That was the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me and I will never forget that and I will truly miss him!

Heidi and family, we were so sorry to learn of Chuck's passing. We often think of you guys. We still have (and use) the teak salad bowl you gave as a wedding gift 38 years ago March 31.
