Charles's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles King, who passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024. Charles was born on the festive day of December 25, 1945, and lived a fulfilling life full of love and laughter.
Charles leaves behind his cherished wife, Yvette King, who was a constant pillar of support and love. Their bond was truly a testament to enduring love, and Yvette's strength during this difficult time is an inspiration to all who knew them.
Their family was Charles' pride and joy. He leaves behind his children Charlotte Jackson , Charles King Jr., and Lonnie King. He was a constant source of guidance and wisdom for them, as he was to his sons and daughters-in-law, Oakland Jackson and Brittany King, respectively. His influence on their lives will surely live on.
Charles was blessed with loving grandchildren - Ashley King, Aaryn King, and Lawrence King. His unique bond with each of them was special, and his loss will leave an irreplaceable void in their hearts.
He is survived by his mother, Pauline Thornton, who imbued him with a strong sense of family and love, and was predeceased by his father, Charles King.
Charles was an avid supporter of the Lakers and found pleasure in the simplest of activities like fishing and playing dominoes. He was a man who knew how to enjoy life, from his favorite pastimes to his favorite vacation spots, including the beautiful Galveston Beach.
It isn't how long a man lives, but how well he uses his time. And Charles lived his life well, touching many lives, spreading joy, and leaving behind an indelible legacy. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
Respectfully a private funeral ceremony will be held for family and close acquaintances only.
