Charles's obituary
Charles "Seiba" Edward Jones, 58, of Greenwell Springs/Central, Louisiana passed away on March 23, 2024. He was born on August 22, 1965 in Jena, Louisiana to Harry Joe and Eloise Jones. Following a quick but intense battle with liver cancer, he left this world in his home in Central, surrounded by his family.
Charles is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ricki Bennett Jones, and his sons Jacob and Tyler, his daughter Nicole Mayfield and her wife Parker Mayfield, and sister Ruby Jones.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Otis and Ruby Mitchell, parents Harry Joe and Eloise Jones, and his dear uncle Russell Mitchell.
Charles attended Jena High School where he played many sports and excelled as a pitcher and catcher for Jena's baseball team. He studied Wildlife Conservation at Louisiana Tech and graduated with the class of 1989.
Charles was a dedicated employee of Matrix New World Engineering, where he served as Director of Ecological Services for the Gulf Region. He took great pride in his work. Throughout his career he impacted the preservation of wetlands in Louisiana and beyond.
In his free time Charles enjoyed cooking for his family, fishing, watching football and baseball, and most of all spending quality time with his beloved wife.
His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
