Charles's obituary
Charlie was born in Key West, Florida to Edward and Barbara Johnson. He graduated high school in 1974, and in 1978, obtained his Diesel Mechanics Certification in Tampa, FL. Charlie moved to Houston, TX thereafter and began his profession in Diesel Mechanics. On March 18, 1989, Charlie married the love of his life, Laurie Ann Erickson. They raised 1 son, Jake Edward Johnson, and 1 daughter, Kelsey Rose Johnson, together.
Charlie had a passion for mechanics. Not only had he mastered the craft of automotive mechanics, but he took great interest in the understanding of all mechanics. Charlie was known as "Mr. Fix-It" to those that loved him. He took great pride in helping his friends and family with anything that needed fixing. He was an avid sports lover, primarily of the Houston Astros, Houston Texans, and any and all of his children's sports games. Charlie enjoyed Rock N Roll music and was the life of the party at every event. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, big bear hugs, and his compassionate spirit.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Barbara. He is survived by: his wife, Laurie, and children, Jake and Kelsey. His daughter-in-law: Katherine Elizabeth Johnson. His grandson: Rhett Edward Johnson, and his granddaughter, due in September 2020. His sisters: Carolyn Font and Cheryl Johnson. His brother-in-laws: George Font, Joseph Erickson III, Steve Erickson, and Walker Lowry. His sister-in-laws: Tanya Erickson, Michelle Erickson, and Lisa Lowry. And his nieces and nephews: Will Lowry, Alan Lowry and his wife, Faith, Chris Lowry, Joseph Erickson and his wife, Brooke, Rachel Cuellar and her husband, Richard, and son, Colton, Travis Erickson, and McKenna Erickson.
