The family will receive friends on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of his Life Celebration at 11:00 AM. at the Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Boulevard, Dale City, VA, 22193. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, VA 22172
Born in Salisbury, North Carolina in 1935, Charles has lived in Woodbridge, VA for the past 25 years following his retirement.
Mr. Hunt graduated from Price High School in Salisbury, NC following his service in the Korean Campaign with the United States Navy. In 1960 Mr. Hunt received a B.S. in Biology at Livingstone College. From 1960 until 1964 Mr. Hunt taught Chemistry and Biology and coached athletics in the Alamance County Schools. From 1964 until 1965 Mr. Hunt taught science and math at his high school Alma Mater until accepting a position as Research Biologist in Histopathology at Sterling-Winthrop Research Institute in Rensselaer, New York.
Charles enjoyed reading, music, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Neabsco Baptist Church and will be missed by all who knew him. He had a dedicated neighbor Mary Wellington, who assisted with care and friendship. Pastor Cynthia Graham of the Rock Ministries
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 11 years June A. Sheffield-Hunt. He is also survived by children and stepchildren Charles E. Hunt III (Marieanne), Venetta Khattab (Mohamed), Nadine Sheffield (O'Neil Keels), and Ronald Sheffield; siblings Beth Jones (Late Wauther), Reverend Patricia Wilson, and Irvin Hunt ( Wynonna); grandchildren Amira Khattab, Fathalla Khattab, Ernest Everett, Emmanuel Everett, O'Neil Keels, II, Carolanne Bonanno, and Roseanne Billingsley; great grandchildren Gabriel Everett, Brandon Everett, and Evia Everett.
Charles was predeceased by his parents; Charles E. and Cora (Banks) Hunt, and a brother Robert Hunt (late Gwendolyn).
