Charles's obituary

  • Early evening, Tuesday, December 14, 2021, Charles Edward Pearson Jr., loving son, brother, father of 4 children and grandfather of 2, passed away at the age of 50.  Charles was born on August 17, 1971 in Peoria, Illinois to Minister Merle Janet (Ward) and Civil Rights Activist, Charles Edward Pearson Sr.  Charles was a seasoned Car Salesman and Entrepreneur. In 2007, he married Su Pearson. They had two sons, Deon Pearson (age 21), Charles Pearson (age 20) and two daughters, Saniya Pearson (age 15), Sumia Pearson (age 13) and two grandchildren Aaliyah Pearson (age 4 ) and Deon Pearson Jr. (DJ, age 3).  Since 2011 Charles helped raise Joseiko, Taysha and Christopher (Chris) with domestic partner, Regina Stevens of Atlanta, Georgia.  Charles had a deep passion for spending time with family, friends and outdoors. He also loved music, sports, cars, and helping others.  He took care of his mother full time and helped raise his oldest nephew.  He worked for hisself for over 20 years in the car industry and vehicle distribution selling new and used cars. He also worked with multiple dealerships and insurance companies establishing strong relationships to help people meet their needs.

    During the last few years of his life, he spent a lot of time with his grandson Deon Jr. (DJ), grandson’s mother, Shakira, family and close friends. When in Peoria, he enjoyed visiting his extended family, spending time with friends and traveling to Iowa where his sisters reside.

    He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Pearson Sr., his brother, Deon Lesean Edward Pearson and grandparents. He is survived by his his 4 children, Deon Pearson, Charles Pearson, Saniya Pearson, Sumia Pearson, granddaughter Aaliyah Pearson, grandson Deon Pearson Jr. (DJ) Pearson, domestic partner, Regina Stevens and children, brother David Ward, 6 sisters of Waterloo, Iowa, many nephews, nieces, cousins and close friends.
