Charles's obituary

Charles Edward Johnson Jr., 30, of Nashville, TN departed this life on January 08, 2023.  His loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.

Charles was born on September 20, 1992, to Juanita Winston and Charles Edward Johnson Sr in Montgomery, Alabama.  He graduated from Central Gwinnett-Lawrencevlle High School in Lawrenceville, Georgia in May of 2011 where he was passionate about playing the saxophone in both the Marching Band and Concert Band.  After graduating from high school, Charles attended Georgia Gwinnett College also located in Lawrenceville, Georgia.   He found his calling, however, as a warehouse worker with UPS for nearly a decade where he eventually became a Supervisor until his passing.  Anyone who knew Charles knew that he was a kind, loving, sensitive, caring, and awesome man.  He had an immense passion for children and animals.  He cared deeply for and made it a priority to spend time with his nieces, nephews, and younger siblings.

Along with his infectious laugh, Charles' smile was warm and authentic.  He was always a source of positivity.  Charles’ family and friends will miss him more than words can say.  Contributions in memory of Charles can be made to your local animal shelter. The family will hold a funeral service at 3 p.m., January 21, 2023, at Ross-Clayton Funeral Home in Montgomery, Alabama, followed by the interment at the family burial site in Madison Park, Alabama.  If you cannot attend the service, please consider posting here to pay your respects and share your experiences with Charles.
