Charles Edward Cumella of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on February 28th, 2025, the day of the planetary alignment, in his Mesa home of 27 years. Charles was born in Brooklyn, NY, on April 13th, 1956. His parents, Edward John Cumella and Amelia Marie Cumella (nee Zarrella), predeceased him. Charles is survived by his two younger siblings: Michele Ann Tardo, married to Joseph Tardo, of Monroe, Township, NJ; and Dr. Edward John Cumella, married to Sherrill Dillard-Cumella, of Wickenburg, AZ; as well as by his beloved nieces and nephews: Seth & Casey, Louis & Kate, Thomas & Giuliana, Phil & Tifany, Leo, Velvet, Orion, Mya, and Arya. Charles attended Brooklyn College in the early 1970s. He lived in Brooklyn and New York, NY;  Boston, MA; Gainesville, Florida; and Mesa, Arizona. He loved Sonoran Desert sunsets, flora, and fauna; he truly loved almost all forms of music. He spoke multiple languages, including Esperanto.
