Charles's obituary
Charles "Chuck" Edward Baxter, age 73, of Painesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 3rd, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 10, 1951, in Painesville, Chuck was a proud Ohioan with a deep love for his hometown, his university, and his family. He graduated from Harvey High School and went on to play football at The Ohio State University.
Family was at the heart of everything Chuck did. He was a devoted husband to Patricia Baxter, and a proud father to his two sons, Chris Baxter and Steve Baxter. His greatest joys were his grandchildren, Ethan and Hailey Baxter, whom he adored beyond measure.
When he wasn’t cheering on the Buckeyes, you could find him out on the golf course, enjoying the game and the good company that came with it.
Chuck will be remembered for his humor, generosity, and the deep, steady love he gave to everyone in his life. His stories, laughter, and loyalty will be missed by all who knew him, along with his constant criticism of the Buckeyes Defense.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; sons, Chris and Steve; and grandchildren, Ethan and Hailey.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Chuck’s honor on Saturday, May 10th at The Varsity Club on the campus of The Ohio State University — a fitting tribute in one of his favorite places.
Forever a Buckeye. Forever in the fairway. Forever in our hearts.
