Hello, I am Ruba Joseph. I am a cousin of Lekha. Lekha is my father’s sister Ranji’s daughter.

When I migrated in 1978, my first stop was Lekha acca’s and Papa anna’s house. Anytime you walk into Lekha acca’s house, she will always welcome you with a smile.

Before I was to get married, Lekha acca gifted me with a beautiful silk sari and an evening purse so that I can use it during the reception and visits as a new bride – I still have them. When we visited Los Angeles as a newlywed couple in 1983 we had a surprise party given by Lekha acca & Papa anna at their home in Donington place.

Lekha acca and Papa anna were there for us during every life event in our family. 2001 - When my mother had hip replacement surgery Papa anna and Lekha acca with Maithili visited during Christmas time, later 2002, when my mother passed away. 2003 - When my father had triple by-pass surgery and passed away –, Lekha acca and Papa anna was at his bedside. 2012 when my brother Suren passed away they flew to NY to be with us.

I cannot thank both Lekha acca and Papa anna enough for all their caring and support when we needed. Rabi and I would take day trips just to visit them. Our son Andrew used to visit them too. Papa anna and Lekha acca always inquired about our kids Andrew and Anushka.

Lekha acca would always offer us lunch or dinner whenever we visited them. I am appreciative of her hospitality.

Rest in Peace Lekha Acca. Until we meet again.

My sincere codolences to Lekha's children and family.  Lekha was a colleague at work but quickly became a dear friend. She was kind, generous, mischievous with an infectious sense of humor. I will never forget her protective compassion for co-workers, who were not as gifted intellectually. When I think of Lekha it brings a smile to my face. I will miss her but know that she is in a beautiful place.  I look forward to being mischievous with her again one day.

My condolences to Lekha's family, Sneha, Previn et al. I have known Lekha since she was my sister's classmate at Ladies College, Colombo, Sri Lanka. I have known  her mother and her many siblings including here eldest brother,  Ranjan Ariyathurai who was in my Engineering Class at the University of Ceylon Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Her elder sister Vasantha and Husband Naval were my neighbors at Simi Valley who were very helpful to me.

Lekha was an accomplished engineer and I have known her to be a kind generous and helpful person. I have spent many happy hours and days socializing with her and her husband Wicks.

I shall miss her

Padman
