Chan's obituary
Chan was a homemaker, mother, wife, and grandmother with a huge heart. She loved playing in her flower gardens and collecting fun items to display. She collected unique antiques that she acquired over the years. She loved walking on the Pascagoula beach and spending time on the water – fresh and saltwater alike. MawMaw Chan was loved by many and always welcomed friends and family into her life and circle. Her family has always been everything to her.
Along with her parents, Chan was preceded in death by her newborn daughter and her great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Starr Foster.
She is survived by her husband, William “Bo” White; children, Windy (Mike) Tiller, Robert (Jennifer) White, Joseph (Felicia) White, and Thomas White; siblings, Betty McCauley of Texas, John Elam of Ohio, Sue Taylor of Texas, Lawrence Elam of Texas, Bridget Elam of California, Rusti Wooten of Texas, Angelina Burleson of Texas, and Tara Simpson also of Texas; eleven grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and close friends.
A celebration of Chan’s life will be announced soon by her family.
