Dear Chad,

It’s been 6 years today since you graduated from Earth. I met you at Chugach as just weeee little tikes. And miraculously, we met again… go figure, at Koots. 

Fast forward to our biggest miracle; our son. 

Forever, you’re missed. 

And forever, I hold a special place for you. In my heart. And soul. 

Thank you, for being Chaddy-Daddy.

And our son’s best friend in the whole wide world.

Miss you tons buddy, I often think on the times our family spent together. May God bless and comfort all dealing and coping with this loss. Chad was a great Father, Husband, and one of the best friends I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and he is sorely missed.

My fondest memory of Chad would be when Chad and Stephanie came over to our Chugiak home for a BBQ. We ate burgers and talked about how Chad and Stephanie first met, all while making fun of their love for Dallas Cowboys of course! We enjoyed sitting around the fire with the Szenders drinking beer and swapping stories. You could tell that Chad had a real passion for his work, and pride in his family. Unfortunately, we did not get the chance to know Chad as well as we wish we could have.

Stephanie and Jacob, we are here for you. You are consistently on our minds during this time of grievance, and we love you.

I only got to meet Chad at the Inheritance of Hope retreat in New York City recently In December as a fellow cancer sufferer. I was eager to meet him since he was an Alaskan as is my brother. And Chad struck me asan Alaskan right away - great genuine guy despite not feeling well. Wish i could’ve got to know him more. Heaven’s gain, Earth’s loss. Much love and sympathy to your family in this difficult time.

In the short time I knew Chad I experienced a one of a kind guy. Chad was a great friend, dad and an awesome husband to my daughter Stephanie.

We shared stories around the fire pit and watched the world series together. He actually let me drive his truck from Seattle to Texas.

We talked about road trips on route 66 in RV,s and had plans. I am so saddened that we never made it.

Chad I consider you not only as my son in law but as a great friend. Rest in peace I love you.
