Catherine (Kaye)'s obituary

Catherine (Kaye) Philomena MacNevin passed away peacefully on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Bethany Lodge in Unionville. Catherine was born on August 14, 1938 in Catalone, Nova Scotia.

Catherine worked as Executive Director of the St. Leonard's Society Sudbury House. She dedicated herself to the reintegration and rehabilitation of her clients. She served as a member of the Sudbury District Committee for Restorative Justice, where she helped to develop a more humane attitude to inspiring life change directions for her clients. Catherine was compassionate, non-judgemental and a great listener. Catherine's great sense of humour regularly had the family laughing. Her children and grandchildren were her life, she was completely content to be with them at all times and loved sharing their stories. She also had very close relationships with her nieces and nephews, she was a treasure to them. Catherine loved and was loved, immensely. She will be greatly missed.

Cherished mother of Glen Tocholke of Sudbury, Elizabeth Phillips of Markham and Mark Tocholke (Dawn Lavigueur) of Sudbury. Grandmother of Tara, Sara, Amanda, Meghan, Emma and Abigail, great grandmother of Simon. Catherine was predeceased by her parents, Archibald MacNevin and Mary Bessie (MacAulay). Treasured sister of Archibald MacNevin (Annie), and Betty Beaver. Predeceased by siblings, Mary MacDonald, Lauchlan MacLean, Berta MacDonald, Donald MacLean , Evan MacLean and Marion Thall.

A private memorial service has been arranged. Memorial donations may be made in Catherine's name to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
