We lived across the street for the past 25 years. My kids called her Gramma Cathy. She adored our dogs !  We loved her caramel rolls, which would show up on our front doorstep after my son/husband would mow her lawn or shovel her driveway. We kept an eye on her and she kept an eye on us.

God bless you, Cathy

It has been a long and melancholic week and a half since my grandmothers passing. After hearing of her condition and witnessing her passing I couldn’t help but look back upon all the memories I’ve had of her. One of these memories in particular is a personal favorite of mine. It’s from when I was a child and I used to play in and around her garden. She was such a talented gardener and adored doing it and I just loved the way it looked and smelt, with so many different colors and insects buzzing around. My personal favorite pastime while there was catching dragonflies, and I’m not quite sure why, but her garden was constantly abuzz with them acting as a hub for their activity. They had so many different colors to them and offered up a fun pastime trying to catch them. Now, however, realizing that I won’t ever be able to see her garden, the insects, or the dragonflies again breaks my heart. For that truly cements to me that she has passed on and I will never be able to see her again, but in pictures or cherished memories. I will miss her dearly.
