Kathan was always a loving and open presence in the NYCNVC Compassion Course for me. I've been involved for 5 years, and have been aware of her since the early days. I saw a picture of her with a musical group and decided to make a musically-oriented donation. I thank Creatix for the subtle connections Kathan & I share. Blessed be!

I have fond memories of Cathan, who was a 19 year old student at the University of Washington when she moved into our shared house.  She was mature way beyond her years; threw herself completely into whatever she was learning;  busked at the Pike Place Market in Seattle with Robin; was very creative and artistic; met challenges with incredible grace; exuded wonderful, loving energy; and was totally smitten with her Robin Prinzing.  She visited Seattle again when Kasha and Brennen about ages 4 and 2 and a few years ago I was honored to have Cathan and Keiko visit.  What a special soul who lived life to the fullest.  May The Force be with you, Cathan.  My condolences to Keiko, Kasha, Brennen, and her incredible circle of friends and family who will all miss her forever.

Cathan spoke about "Needs-Based Awareness," at my group, Provocateurs and Peacemakers.  She was so personable and her content so rich, that I asked if she'd speak again, and not long ago she led the group in a wonderful discussion on "The Power of Empathy." She was such a glorious example of how to show kindness and care.

Cathan was among my top 5 most intellegent, compassionate, patient and interesting friends. Her energy was incedible. I am honored to have been her friend.

The world lost something significant when we lost Cathan.

I'm sure my grief is shared by family and many, many others who now share memories of Cathan in the past tense. Rest in peace and love Cathan.

I had only recently met Cathan on a self empathy intensive online, she was participating in.  She was such a positive force, a ray of light and wonderful smile. Thoughtful and Kind. She had said that she was considering coming over to the UK on a walking holiday and would of been great to meet her in person. Her values and actions, will live long and set an example to me to keep practicing them.

Cathan was my compassion communication teacher and mentor for four years.  Her love for teaching and learning, her joy in when we, her students, grasped a concept, her delight and laughter will stay with me for the rest of my life.  Cathan supported me when I was most desperate in my life; I was able to move forward because she gave me her presence and support, love and care, she truly saw me.   She was so gifted, loving and caring, what a loss to the family, friends and community.

For 3 years, Cathan was a mentor/facilitator for Empathy (feelings & needs). She was a gentle soul and very generous with her time. Brilliant, knowledgeable and kind. I miss Cathan and will always remember her. Sending my condolences to her family and all who knew her. Much love and hugs.
I worked with Cathan throughout the past year and I found it immensely rewarding and transformative as her compassion and empathy resonated so loudly. She'd been supporting some work within Black & Veatch and I'm grieving this loss as her light is so bright. Love to all impacted by such a compassionate soul.
Cathan's humour, kindness, wisdom and empathy enriched my life. Her examples, humility and compassion helped integrate the lessons into reality. The lessons I have learned from being part of her virtual Empathic Connections practice group contribute so much to meeting my needs and those of others. I will miss her deeply, yet her teachings help me in this time too. Thank you.

We first met Cathan when she was pregnant with Brenan and planning his homebirth.  Our midwife, introduced us to her because Cathan was newly vegan, and we had been through a successful vegan pregnancy, and our midwife thought we might connect -- and we did!

In the years that followed we got to see a lot of Cathan as we were part of small playgroup of breastfeeding, natural-living families.  Those were magical years for us, Cathan made being a mother and being with our kids so much fun-- and one memory that particularly stands out was Joe's 50th birthday party, when Cathan gathered up everyone's kids at the party and organized them into a singing performance for all the adults.

Cathan was such an incredibly kind and loving person, and an amazing teacher. We felt so fortunate to have her in our lives while our children were growing up.  Our children took Kindermusic from her first, and then when they got older Cathan created wonderful musical theatre workshops, where the kids got to collaborate with her in writing and performing a musical -- even more wonderful, the finished product was really GOOD.

When Cathan's father was fighting colon cancer, she put her talents to work researching and creating a protocol using nutrition and supplements and to his doctors amazement, the Cancer shrunk.

So a few years later when Joe's mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, Joe reached out to Cathan and she was so  helpful -- coming over to his mom's home and being so gentle and compassionate with her.

Kasha, Ari, Brenan keiko and Kent -- we are so sorry for your loss.  Cathan will be missed by so many of us.
