The event will be held at the new LongHouse Visitor Center at the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Garden. We are planning a brief memorial program at 2PM, but guests will be able to see the family, socialize, and walk the arboretum as they wish for the remainder of the time. Please come and go as you are able throughout the afternoon. We will appreciate your presence whether you stop by briefly or stay the entire duration.
As Covid was involved in Cathan’s passing and several other members of the family have had Covid in recent months, we are trying to be conscious of its potential presence at this gathering. In order to make the memorial safe and accessible for as many people as possible, we would like to request that you wear a mask while you attend. We will have masks available at the door if you would like one when you arrive.
The Visitor Center is an accessible, wheelchair-friendly building. The Gathering Space is reachable by both stairs and dedicated elevator. Restrooms are single occupancy and accessible.
The Center has its own parking lot, separate from the arboretum trail entrance. When entering from the main gate, take the first right to proceed to the Center. Please ensure that you park at the Center for your own convenience, it’s quite a long walk between the two lots. Arboretum staff can help guide you if you are unsure whether you’re in the best parking lot for the celebration or not.
