Many fond memories growing up across the street from the Betancourt family. . .Casilde was always in the kitchen with an apron on and an electric skillet every day had marinara sauce simmering. She smiled alot but never showed teeth. She had her hands full with 5 kids and I can still remember her calling out to the younger boys from the driveway! She is the last matriarch of the 50s era. . .and will be missed. May God bless her and may she rest in peace. Her baton and marinara receipe is now passed on to the next generation. Oh . . .and then there was the Italian cookies She made that looked like thin crisp waffles!💜
