Casey's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Casey Nelson, a man who was full of wit, smart, and often the funniest person in the room. Born on May 21, 1962, Casey moved on from this life on March 8, 2023, leaving an irreplaceable void.

Casey's vibrant spirit is carried on by his children, Jennifer Nelson and Cameron Yourston, and his ex-wife, Cheryl Nelson. They remember him as a man who knew how to savor the joys of life and live it to its fullest. His son, Christopher Yourston, predeceased him.

Those who knew Casey often remember him with his loyal companion, Stella, walking down the Fanno Creek trail. He found solace and joy in the simplest of activities and shared the same with those around him. Going to the coast and camping all over Oregon were his favorite getaways, with many memorable vacations.

A celebration of Casey's life will be held on September 10, 2023, at 1:00 PM at 9333 SW 4th Ave. It will be an event that mirrors his persona, filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. The legacy he leaves behind is that of a man who knew how to have fun and will be greatly missed by his family.

In honoring Casey's love for animals, we request that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oregon Humane Society. Donations can be offered at https://everloved.com/life-of…. Contributions will serve as a means to remember Casey and his enduring love for all creatures.

Casey was a beacon of joy, wit, and intelligence. His fondness for nature, his humor, and his love for his family are remembered and celebrated. He leaves behind a world that is less bright without him, but his spirit continues to shine in those who knew and loved him.
