Pastor Carron "CJ"'s obituary

Obituary
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)

Living well beyond the promised years of three score and ten, to a blessed ninety-two (92) years of age. Carron Knighton aka Pastor CJ Knighton departed her earthly vessel of life on Sunday, January 5, 2020, on the Lord’s day of worship and rest. She took the ninety-two years of her life and served him faithfully with strength, commitment, and love.

On May 18, 1927, in Eatonton, Georgia, Carron Knighton was born to the late parents of Robert and Corean Jackson, and she was their oldest child. The love that cleared the path was her husband, Rev. Allen Knighton, who preceded her in death, and to their union, there were five children born. Carron, also, was preceded in death by her son, Edward Knighton, granddaughter Kemberly Vance Dodson, sister Gladys Jackson, sister Lillie Mae Davenport, and brother Willie Lee Jackson.
Through her love of work, Carron dedicated more than thirty (30) years working for the Atlanta Board of Education along with many years working for Channel 5 and the Internal Revenue Service. In her later years, Carron pursued her talent and attended Atlanta Area Technical College to learn how to make flower arrangements and learned sewing.
Pastor CJ Knighton’s love for the Lord led her to start her own church, Line Road Holiness Church. The church was known for the female pastor loving beating on the drums with a big open heart to all. Pastor CJ Knighton always invited churches from all over to attend service and loved to visit other churches to share her passion of the Lord. With sharing her Godly love to her family, as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, she has left a long family legacy of Godly love to ALL.
Carron Knighton aka “Pie” to her children leaves to cherish her legacy four daughters, Dorothy Knighton, Geraldine Knighton Vance, Nedia Knighton, Carolyn Knighton Hodges, one brother-Elic Jackson (Thelma), one sister-Marie Jackson, seven (7) grandchildren, and sixteen (16) great-grandchildren, along with a host of other family and friends.
