Ms. Carrie Brown, 92, of Newellton, LA, passed away on June 25, 2023 .
Carrie was born on (March 14, 1931) to [George and Sarah Brown, Sr. in [Newellton, Louisiana. Carrie attended St. Stevens Missionary Church school until 5th grade. She than came to Newellton to further her education and received her GED.
Carrie later became licensed to run a daycare in her home. She was homemaker. Carrie was employed by the Hargrove's, Mrs. Terrell, the Cranes, and Mrs. Ola as a private sitter for years.
Carrie Mae was baptized at age 12 in 1943 under the leadership of Reverend Turner, at Greenfield Missionary Baptist Church. She served as an usher and later moved to the mother board until it's closure. She later moved her membership to Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a mother and faithful member until her death.
Carrie was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, two sisters; Sarah and Mamie, one brother; George Brown Jr. , her daughter; Linda Faye Brown, granddaughter La'Queda Brown. Four great grandchildren and cousins Rudia Bass and Bernadette Wilson.
Carrie leaves to cherish her precious memories eight children; one son; Isaac King III of Humble TX; Patricia Fisher of Austin, TX; Gloria Brown of DeSoto TX.; Georgette Britton of Tallulah, LA.; Tina Brown (Richard) if Vicksburg; MS., Clara Cephus, Jocelyn Brown, Octavia Darden of Newellton, Louisiana, 21 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She raised her grandchildren Rosalyn Brown, Christopher Brown, Chasity Brown, La'Queda Brown, and her great grandson Torrance Brown. One godson, Michael Brown of Houston, TX, and one sister Ella Mae Brown of Newellton LA. Carrie Mae has a hand in raising some of her nieces and nephews; Diana Watson, Martha McCune . Betty Young Wingate , Ralph Brown, Eddie Brown, Donald Brown, ; extended family Walter Darden ,Jr., Robert Darden Betty (earnest) Darling., Medric Cephus, Elijah (Brenda) Washington, Larry Clark, Dear cousins James (Classie), Johnnie (Mary), of Natchez, MS, James Brown, Bobbie Martin, Clara McCoy, Willie Brown, Elzie "Drake" Bass, a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Two special friends ; Juanita Strange and Judith Hogue.
