Dear Scott, I just want to offer you my sympathy and my love in the hope it might help you bear the sorrow and grief you are dealing with in losing Carreen. I know how badly you both wanted to attend Jason's wedding. So please know this: your boys John, Landon, and Jacob stood out like shining stars. The love they showed the Pastene's was palpable the entire celebration. How proud you both must be of them! Through them, you and Carreen's presence was always felt. What a great mother Carreen was I can only imagine by judging the sons she raised together with you. And she and her love will live on through them. The love you both taught them is a precious thing that will continue to spread to all who share time with them. Even though she will be sadly missed, in this way Carreen will still always be with the Savoies, the Pastenes, and anyone who is touched by their love. I hope you find your own way to deal with your grief with as little pain as is possible. And, I look forward to when our paths will cross again. With my love, Jim Dennis

I’m glad I was able to meet her earlier this year! She was definitely a firecracker, and I loved her fun, laid back nature

I will remember forever the last time I saw Careen-she was dicing red and green bell peppers and canning homemade pasta sauce for her family. She was always thinking of her loved ones around her.

What I remember most, even from the first time meeting Carreen was her beautiful smile, positivity and love 💗 for Scott.

Dear Savoie Family,
Carreen was a force, and she made her place in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to share even brief pages in her book.
She had a talent for joy. With her generous laugh, ready smile and a heart that always found more room, she looked directly at life and saw the funny in all the little things.
It takes courage to create joy when life is handing out lemons, and Carreen --- our coach's wife, players' mom, teacher and much-admired snack shack mentor --- had that courage in spades. She rocked this story, and we know she's rocking the next chapter.
While we wish we could be with you on Saturday to honor Carreen and her legacy of truly good men and women who are raising the next generation of Team Savoie, please know that we are wearing color and sending our hearts.
Take care of yourselves and each other. Many are walking with you.

Carreen has always been and will always be an exceptional friend in our lives. I will forever cherish the memories of standing alongside Carreen on the sidelines of numerous football games over the years. Her positive spirit, enthusiasm, humor, and passion were infectious. Those memories will forever bring a smile to my face and comfort to my soul. Carreen will always be remembered for her love and dedication to her family, the South Nevada County Community and our children.
