Carolyn always thought of others. While in hospice she organized a tiny gift for her PEO sisters in Arroyo Grande. The tiny bag had a silver guardian angel, a card and a coin reflecting she's "always nearby". All were impressed and touched by her thoughtfulness. She is missed!
Carolyn was an amazing woman. Smart, funny, hard-working, generous, dedicated to her family, and willing to help friends. Carolyn never said no when I asked her for a favor, very often a will-you-work-on-this favor. From cooking meals for a hundred people to decorating tables in un-airconditioned spaces, she helped me organize, buy food, manage the time, and make everything look special. She was also the kind of friend who helped in times of sorrow and loss. She had a talent for supporting friends when they didn't know they needed it and for holding hands when they knew they needed someone to be with them. This world became a bit dimmer when she went home to heaven and heaven became brighter when she arrived.
The day Jeff and Carolyn called and Gilbert was able to say Goodbye was extremely difficult .We are forever greatful that Gilbert was able to share memories and we could remind her how much we love her and how she has been a amazing Friend and so much like family. Watching Carolyn perform on stage with her books and costumes. Hanging out with both Carolyn and Jeff at Pajero Dunes on their summer get aways. Last but not least seeing the home they bought near the beach a dream come true for Carolyn, she loved it. You will be missed ! Love Gilbert n Sheila Acosta
Mrs Tassey was my 4th grade teacher and one of my most memorable and inspiring educators throughout school. The gift of her own creativity and enthusiasm instilled a love of literature that has stayed with me. I also have a vague memory of aerobics-style dancing on the Chenoweth blacktop to the Pointer Sisters’ “Jump for Your Love” - exhilarating! I am so sorry for your loss, and I know Mrs Tassey lives on in the hearts of her students - including me. ❤️
