David's obituary

Caroll David Outlaw, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great‑grandfather, son, brother and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and hard work. Born in South Bend, Indiana, he began a life defined by devotion to family, friends and living life to the fullest.

David was the devoted husband of 48 years to his loving wife, Jacquelyn Outlaw. Together, they built a strong and enduring partnership rooted in love, faith, and commitment.

He was a proud father to eight children: Brian (Tasha), Chanda, Justin, Garren, Jeniya, Nykia (preceded in death), Naushanti, and Leah. His family was his greatest joy, and he took immense pride in watching it grow across generations.

David was also a cherished grandfather to twelve grandchildren: Jihad (Ayela), Ayonna, Ashanti, Garren Jr., Bryell, Trayson, Justin (“JoJo”), Zanae, Taj, Brennan, Brynn, and Aniya. He was further blessed with three great‑grandchildren—Laila, Ameera, and Jiraiya—who brought even more light into his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Warren G. Outlaw, and his brother, Terrence Outlaw. He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Marie Outlaw, and his brothers Warren Outlaw (Iris), Bruce Outlaw (Sonia), and Douglass Outlaw (Helen), with whom he shared lifelong bonds.

Known for his warm and welcoming personality, David was a funny, kind, and loving man who could bring a smile to anyone’s face. He had a natural gift for working with his hands and was an exceptional mechanic. His skill and dedication also made him an outstanding truck driver, a profession he carried out with pride and excellence. In addition, David was a talented chef who expressed his love through the meals he prepared for family and friends.

David graduated from Washington High School and continued his education at Indiana University Bloomington and Arizona State University.

He will be remembered for his strength, humor, generosity, and the deep love he had for his family. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
