I just learned of Carolina's passing. I am so very sorry. Spending time with Carolina was always great fun. I treasure her paintings and have two in my living room which I enjoy every day. She will be missed.

Thanks for sharing. Your mom spent many hours counseling me and helped me through a very difficult time. So sorry for your loss.

To the family of Caroline Bartholomew Medina. I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to you. I am a classmate of Caroline - Montclair High School Class of 1961, Montclair, New Jersey. I did not know Caroline well in High School, but formed a nice friendship during the class planning meetings. In 2006 Caroline drove me to the Caldwell Airport after a planning meeting. I had flown to New Jersey from my home in Massachusetts for that meeting. We had a nice chat on the way to the airport. During that drive, Caroline told me that her dad was somehow instrumental in the location and purchase of property in Essex Fells for what would become Northeastern Bible Institute. The president of the school was Dr. Charles W. Anderson, who was the pastor of the church my family attended in the 1950's and 1960's - Brookdale Baptist Church in Bloomfield, N.J.
I have posted a few photos, one being the painting by Caroline: Spirit Of The Pond, Essex Fells.

Annabelle, Allegra and Families:
The Duffys were so sad to hear of your Mother's death. The Duffys and Bartholomews were lifelong friends living and growing up in Essex Fells. We will miss your Mother and Eli and keep them in our prayers.
Peace and Love to you all,

Dear Allegra and Annabell and family,
I will always remember Carole’s radiant smile.
I met her as a kid in Essex fells and was in awe of her sophistication and coolness as Sue older sister. She went on to become a painter of a lovely things that made the world a more beautiful place. I know she loved you kids so much. So sorry to hear of her passing . Know I’m thinking of you.
Love you,
Kritzi

I'm deeply sorry for the loss of Caroline. I'm also deeply sorry that things between us in life didn't go as well as they might have. But she has entered a new and eternal chapter of her life -- one to which I'm sure that she looked forward. We also who remain move on as well. For one last time, I will say it: "I love you, Caroline! And goodbye!"

Annabelle, Allegra, Steve and Susie----We have so many fond memories of Caroline and Eli. We're happy owners of one of Carol's early paintings and our kids each have a copy of the Pond painting. Our daughter Molly is in the red jacket in that painting. Oscar enjoyed playing tennis with Eli when he was in Essex Fells. The Bartholomews and Bates (Warriners) have a long history together starting with Uncle Barty and Oscar's grandfather Warriner working together in the Crown (gold) Mines in South Africa in 1905. Oscar's grandparents came to Essex Fells because of that friendship. So sorry to have lost Caroline and Eli too soon.

I will miss our Sunday afternoon very long discussions on family, politics, the Bible, medicine, Israel, art, opera, Tanglewood, etc. And the meaning of true FRIENDSHIP.
In response to "What made Caroline different from most people you know?"
