I am so sad to find that Jeanine has passed. She was a very special person and was a valuable contributor to the humanitarian efforts of The Foodbank, Inc. and The Mathile Family Foundation. I thoroughly loved working with her. She was a devoted wife and mother, a natural leader, had a wonderful sense of humor and also irony.  My sincere sympathies to Herb, Herbie, Ben and Andy. She is gone way too soon.

Sending our heartfelt sympathies to all of the family.

To the Hufford and Tomlinson families, my deepest sympathy for your loss. Jeanine’s passing was way too early. RIP to a wonderful lady.

Jeanine is gone too soon, and we are saddened by all the challenges she and her family had to deal with during her long illness. To me, she was always the quiet one of the Tomlinson cousins, but clearly there was much depth of love and caring beneath that appearance. She accomplished much in her too short time.  May God bless

To the family of Jeanine:

We are saddened to learn of Jeanine's passing. She was well known for her untiring support for causes near and dear to her and her loved ones. Her long and difficult journey through the past few years reminds us all of how fragile life can be.  As a member of our extensive line of Howenstine cousins, she and the Hufford family will always be cherished in our memories. God's blessing to you all.

1982, South Lincoln Street, Kent, Ohio, USA

I was starting my Jr.  year at Kent State University.  I had rented a single room within a multiple occupied house.  There was one apartment that housed two girls, the rest of the house divided into rooms.  Everyone in the house seemed nice.  A few days passed...

One girl from the apartment introduced herself as "Jeanine".

My part of the house in Kent use to be the front dining room, so I had windows on two sides of my "room". One day I looked up from a book and saw a tall guy looking in my window.  I ran to Jeanine but she laughed.  This man was her boyfriend. Hello "Big Herb"!

We became sisters that fall of 1982 and I can't think of an event in my life since that day that didn't include input from my "sister" Jeanine in some way.

We have been blessed to share our families since that time and that will continue. I know we are always together with God.
