Carole, everyone who knew you will remember your radiant smile and contagious laughter that lit up any room. You brought so much joy and warmth into all of our lives, and we’ll miss you. I always love and admired how you could be so ferociously honest — I always knew where I stood — but you never made me feel anything less than loved. Your hugs were so genuine and comforting, and your laugh could brighten all things. You may be gone, but never truly gone — your laughter still echoes in our memories. I Never called you “Grandma,” but you were my chosen, cool Grandma — and I’ll always be grateful for the love, laughter, and memories you shared with all of us. ❤️

I was never fortunate enough to meet Carole, but spent several years in my teens as a pen friend to Toni, a friendship that was to be rekindled some 40+ years later. I had many letters from Toni as a youngsters in which she said "I don't know the answer to that question, I'll ask my mom"! My thoughts from the UK will be with you all on Saturday.
